I love to quilt..

Just wanted to throw in a few pics of some quilts I have made..the top two were hand made for my second daughter's room. I saw pictures of the striped quilt in Pottery Barn Kids and loved it so much, but it was so expensive, so I decided to make my own! Made the lil wallhanging to match.
The puppy quilt below is pieced with different shades of tan and the little bones were appliqued/stitched on. The black material has little paw prints on it. This was made for a dear friend's nursery a couple of years ago. The jean quilt below was also made for one of my best friends' son's room and I made one for each of his bunk beds and added little jean tags and pockets to them. Definitely a fun project, but time consuming! Did I mention I love fabric as much as paper? :) Thanks for looking!

So Full of Energy

(Click on each pic to see more detail!)

Whew! Last one for InspireMeCardKits! I had a really tough time getting pictures of this layout...and they still aren't quite the right color. The red cardstock is supposed to be a darker red color. I thought this paper had a lot of energy to it, so I chose this photo of my daughter.
Journaling: I love this picture because it emulates your personality to a tee! Energetic, that's for sure! Today you discovered the air conditioner unit outside! 7-10-07

I added the blue paint under the title and the little office tag (everything else included in the 12x12 kit!). The large letters are inked with black Staz-On ink. I stitched the lines for the journaling with my machine and cut out the brackets from the patterned paper/added polkadots. Typed "So full of " in Photoshop before printing the pic. Thank you for looking! Have a great weekend!

My sweet little Kati

One more layout here for InspireMeCardKits' July 12x12 kit! The black flower and date rub-on is from Jenni Bowlin and is available as an add-on to the kit. Journaling says, "I adore you even with the messiest face..and just look at those beautiful eyes; they are definitely windows to the most beautiful soul. I love you with all of my heart!" This is my daughter, Kati. She is such a sweet little girl with a kind, kind soul. I thought these papers were perfect for a soft, girly layout and my favorite colors!

Sweet July Treat

Another layout for IMCK here.. .boy did I struggle with this one too...but I love how it came together in the end! These are my 2 girls on the left and our little neighbor girl (who Taylor can' t get enough of ... even though she is 3 years younger than her). :) They were sitting and enjoying a sweet treat, watching the trees sway in the wind.

This is the July 12x12 kit - Sassafras Lass papers, and the doodly stars are stamps I created for an add-on to the kit. I stamped them on transparencies to layer over the chipboard. I am in LOVE with this color combination! Of course, red is always my favorite! These little tickets by Jenni Bowlin are so fun too that come with the kit.

I used a large chipboard star that I had in my stash and traced it with the glittery paper, but you could easily print one from the internet to trace if you didn't have one on hand. Thanks for looking!

Happy hump day,
Danielle

Proud to be American..

Just a lil layout.. been having a dry spell with layouts lately, so no laughing! ha Design team work for IMCK here.

This is my family on July 3rd this year. We went to listen to 3 bands play outdoors and watch the fireworks. It was Kati's first year seeing the "pop-pops" as she calls them. She was scared at first but then kept saying, "See, see?" and pointing to the lights in the sky. Taylor enjoyed the Bouncy Bounce and some yummy nachos. They were handing out these silly 3D glasses all night, so we ended up with a million pair! The kiddos had fun collecting them.

Wish I could have fit all my fun photos from the night on here! Well, gotta get to bed, it's getting late here. Nite-nite.

Love Elsie "Roxie" line

Yay, I love the 15th! That is when I get to share my work for Treasured Scrapbooking every month. Just look at what the July kit has in store! This was a fun kit to play with, I must say. I can't get enough of the music sheet paper.

I created four cards and submitted 2 of them to Paper Crafts and they were accepted! So I ended up having to make 2 more to replace them. Watch for them in the Feb. '08 issue! I finally broke the Paper Crafts barrier.. I am just thrilled! ha :)

There is a story to the WOW card. The inspiration for this came on Friday when I went to see my niece in a play she was in..they did songs from "School house rock"..anyone remember this?? Well, one of the songs was about interjections like wow!, hey!, etc. I thought it was so cute. So I had to make a card with an interjection! Yeah!

Thanks for visiting me today! Have a great Sunday!

(The last one, Lots of Gifts card, is out for pub.. see me in Cards, December 2007.)

Cyber Crop..come and play!

Treasured Scrapbooking is hosting a "Beachy Summer" cyber crop this weekend starting tonight at 7 EST if you'd like to come and play! Here is my challenge:

When I think of summer, I think of going to the beach, seeing the beautiful ocean and listening to the soothing crashing of the WAVES! Create a card or layout that has a wavy shape on it (doesn’t have to be a water wave, just a wave shape). I will choose a winner randomly for a RAK from me! Have fun!

Altered Christmas Project

I finally get to share a project I was asked to do for DSAguild.com for their Christmas in July newsletter using the "Eat Cake" digi paper pack. I've been dying to post it. I covered the house with the digital papers that I printed out, added buttons, paint, and Delta Texture Magic dimensional paint for the snow. I also added clear beads to the dimensional paint when still wet to make it look shinier. The house has a button wreath on the front door. On the tree, I used buttons and brads for ornaments..I love these clear buttons by Foofala that you can add patterned paper behind..so neat. Can you tell I have a little button addiction? There is a snowflake rub on on the tree topper. Thank you for looking! And don't be shy..feel free to leave a comment. :)

Hybrid card

Happy 4th of July! Can you believe it's July already?! Eek! The summer is going WAY too fast for me. Worked on another hybrid card this morning...I'm using it as double duty here..created it for ScrapGypsies DT and also for Lilybean's card challenge from her blog here.
The papers and star/frosting on cupcake is Eva Kipler "Unquiet" digi papers and elements from thedigichick.com. Love the fun colors. Other supplies: brown flourish rub-on is Fancy Pants, 7 Gypsies journaling card, buttons are Foofala, ribbon is Offray, misc. gems. I used my Fiskars crimper to make the lil cupcake holder. Haven't used that thing in a LONG time! I had so much fun with this challenge! :) Thanks, Melissa! It just started to rain here. Stay safe on this fun holiday.

One more for the June card kit at IMCK..

Made one more for InspireMeCardKits.com with the June card kit today...everything on here is in the kit. I cut the letters to spell "birthday" from the patterned paper in the kit and stitched a lil flower for the i. Found some large scalloped scissors at Michael's for $1.99 and used them on the green cardstock here, love 'em! I've heard through the grapevine that you can find these puppies at Dollar Tree too, but haven't had time to check it out. Happy Monday to you! :)

Challenge over at Treasured Scrapbooking!

If you like challenges, you should visit us over at Treasured Scrapbooking! We have monthly challenges and weekly challenges now in our forum! All participants go into a RAK at the end of the month for a yummy prize from TS. Since summer is full of birthday parties and celebrations, my card challenge for July is to make a birthday card for a girl or boy! It's always nice to have them on hand when you need one. There is one catch though.... show me a fun way to use FELT on it!! Here is my example made with the KI Surprise line of papers, ribbons and stickers. I made the journaling bubble and bird myself...
Thanks for visiting me today, and hope you are having a great Sunday! :)

Hybrid card

Check out these fun digital papers from Amy Teets! Awesome colors, perfect for summer. Amy also designs for Dream Street, one very talented girl. You can find these papers (Invigoration line) for sale here.

I made this card for a guy friend of ours who had a surprise party yesterday for his 30th birthday! (It was really hard to give this one away..think I could get it back somehow?.. hee hee) We had fun and Happy Birthday, Nick! The star is Chip Chatter and came with the glittery stripes on it, isn't it neat? Janet over at CMK included these in the last kit swap for me. Love them so much, thanks, Janet! The rub-ons are Creative Imaginations and 7 Gypsies.
