Lots going on...

Wow. It's been almost a week since I've updated my blog and today I don't have anything scrappy to share with you, I apologize! I'm furiously working on CHA projects right now that I can't share yet...and I just hate holding back my work. It's torture for me! Just know that I'm still here and you'll get to see LOTS of things soon! (Think fall and Christmas!)

Taylor's last day of school was last week ~ they had a 1/2 day on Thursday and ever since then, all I've been hearing is, "what can I do?" YEAH! I bet you can so relate. The summer just started! But...we've been having such rainy weather so far, that we can't really do much outside yet. Stinks! We did hit the pool one day and took the girls go-kart riding over the weekend. We also bought tennis rackets and went to the tennis courts to play one day. Taylor did really well with it, but Kati didn't quite catch on. She was our official ball chaser! Which turned out to be perfect, because we really NEEDED a ball chaser! lol

I wanted to pop in and share with you an invite to come on over to Label Tulip over the next couple of weeks for some FUN! We have a lot planned, so stay tuned for that! P.S. Just trying out some new blog headers! You might see a new one from time to time until I decide which one I like the best. lol

Play ball!

These photos of Kati were taken exactly this time last year at her 3rd birthday party! She received a swimming pool from her aunt and uncle that came with some balls and boy did she love those things!
I used Amy Teets' Fresh line of papers by Dream Street for this layout and the Fresh rub ons in the title and under the blue paper. The inspiration for the stitching came from jbarksdale at 2peas. I loved how she did the hopping stitches on an Easter page.

This card is also made with the Fresh line! The butterfly, saying, and swirls are from the rub on set. Pearls are by Melissa Frances, ribbon is Offray.
Stop by the Dream Street blog this month for tons of inspiration using this line! I love how the design team has used it for girl AND boy layouts!

She's 4!

I can't believe my little baby is 4! She is growing up WAY too fast! I miss those baby days, but she still seems so little to me. We had Kati's birthday party on Sunday and she loves pink and dressing up, etc, so she wanted to have a Princess theme. We bought a crown pinata and a baked a crown cake that my husband made with her on Saturday night! They did a great job on the cake, but I wasn't able to get any good photos of it..darn it. I was worried it was going to rain that day, and it did downpour, but only for a few minutes, so I'm glad we were able to be outside most of the time. (That's why the ground is all wet in the pics!) I wasn't sure if she was going to want to break the pinata, but she did fine with it!

Kati's cousin Rachel and sister, Taylor.
She got a fishing pole from grandma and grandpa and loved it! She had to do some fishing in our little pool. How do you like our pool for the summer? lol We'll be going to grandma's pool a lot this year!
I managed to grab some Father's Day photos, this is my hubby on the left with his brother Paul. (who was just trying to hug him or something before the photo)
My hubby with his dad and brother.
On Friday we had a play date with one of Kati's little friends, Adrianna. They have a playland at the mall that we went to, then we had lunch, stopped in to see the little puppies and then took a little rest stop at a bench and had a lollipop. Oh, to be a kid again! Today is Taylor's last full day of school and it's supposed to warm up into the 80's finally this week, so I am excited to start going to the beach. It's been raining every day here lately! Enjoy your day,

Frame it up...

Happy Thursday!

I'm back with a link to purchase CMK's June card kit: go HERE for the Scenic Route and Glimmer Mist kit that I posted earlier! Sorry it took so long. You will love the colors in this kit and can use it for pages also. Everything is 12 x 12, except the red circle cardstock, I believe.

I forgot to post my next card for Card-a-licious! The challenge this week is to make a baby card using ribbon and stitching. I framed a little chipboard dress and dolled it up a bit. Come on over and see what the other girls did: Card-a-licious #24.

Everything is Melissa Frances here (resin frame, pearls, paper, chipboard dress, resin flower, rub on), except the 2 background papers. The pink background is Pink Paislee's Enchanting paper and the blue-ish green is from Cosmo Cricket's Ever After line.

P.S. I thought I better add that the dress is from Melissa Frances' Blank Girly Girl Chipboard, item #GN139. You can see all the chipboard here on this page.

Have a terrific Father's Day weekend!

Hey, sugar...

Pop on over to Label Tulip and check out their June kit called Sugar Shoppe! I've only been designing for them for a few months now, but this is definitely my favorite kit I've received so far. I love the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line! My Sweet Girlz page is a member lift of Steph Baxter. Each month we take turns choosing one person and all of us lift that particular layout. I loved how she did the 2 rows of photos, so I did 2 tiny rows of pics on each side and kept them black and white so they didn't over take the focal point photo in the center. HERE is Steph's layout and the other girls' takes on her page! (Scroll down towards the bottom.)
Kati has been asking me "how I got in your belly?" So I decided to make a page to remember her sweet question. That's a hard question to answer a 3 year old! I loved Malin's answer over at 2peas when I posted my page...her daughter thinks she was swallowed by her mom! LOL These are old pics of me when I was pregnant with Kati.
This next page was created with a couple of papers from the main kit and the rest was from the Salt Water Taffy add-on kit. I turned the little round die cut papers into a rainbow. I think I've done pages on this subject before...but Kati is seriously such a good girl and so easy and happy. She makes me laugh and brightens my day each and every day!
Besides the monthly member lift, we are also challenged each month with a specific challenge:

This month's challenge is all about cooking up some sweet treats... scrapbooking treats, that is! Create something delicious: a recipe book, cupcake picks, a page about your favorite sugary treats... whatever your heart desires (or your creative sweet tooth craves).

I came up with a little card that holds candy on the front. I used the packaging from the Jenni Bowlin chipboard buttons to hold the candy. (Nerds...that's all I had on hand at the time. LOL At least the colors matched!)
And each month there is an exclusive stamp in the kit made JUST for Label Tulip! I stamped it onto the patterned paper and cut out the center to hold the flowers.

I am busy playing with some new goodies this week...can't say just yet who or what it is...but it's unbelievably gorgeous stuffs! Also getting ready for Kati's birthday. We are celebrating it on Sunday with Father's Day. My hubby and father-in-law get to share their day with pink cakes, princess hats and crown pinatas...ha! Should be a fun-filled day. Well, I'm off to catch some winks. We are all worn out and sunburned from field day at the school today. G'nite!

Glimmer Mist and Scenic Route!

= A super.fun.combination! The June card kit from Create My Keepsake went up for sale last night to members and will be available to non-members tomorrow! I'll be back with a link for you tomorrow to purchase this kit! Meanwhile, I will tease you just a bit with what you will be getting from the kit...(hee hee) These are the backsides of some of the papers....awesome patterns and colors from Scenic Route's Garden Grove line! There are also 2 clear acrylic cards in this kit by Sheetload of Cards! Here are the 5 cards that you get directions to make in the kit....
Happy Day acrylic card
I cut a hole in the acrylic card for the star to hang. It's kind of hard to see in the photos...
On the "My Pal" card, I used the Glimmer Mist from the kit to create this background and misted over one of the felt stars. I didn't stick the star down first, just laid it on my cardstock, so some of the mist went under the star. If you want a more perfect star, you could stick the star down first. I kind of liked the messy look, so I kept it. I cut some of the felt stars to add over the top after it was dry.
Totally Awesome Dad card (yes, the pattern for the star is in the kit too!)
On this "flag" card, I used the circle cardstock for a mask and misted over it. Then cut small strips of the circle cardstock to attach back over the card to create "stripes" for the flag. Inside says, "to be free! Happy 4th of July!"
Then, after I was done misting over the circles on the last card, I attached it to this card! (I sprayed the Glimmer Mist on the back of the red circles.)
I am going to have to get more colors of the mist, I had a blast using it and would love to try more things with it! Right now I only have 2 colors of mist. Definitely addicting. I'll be back with the link to purchase and some Label Tulip projects. =)
