Studio Calico's Planetarium card kit sneaks!

Hi all!
I'm so sorry my blog has been out of commission for so long. Wow, I didn't realize I haven't blogged for almost a month. Usually I'm wary of sharing a lot of personal information, but today I'm feeling chatty. :) We had a very busy month to say the least! We sold our home in New York, the movers packed us up, and we hopped on a plane to Colorado. Right now we're in temp housing here south of Denver, but we found a house to buy and will be moving in around May 10th! Colorado is beautiful. Simply beautiful. Open and sunny, has a "free" feeling to it that reminds me of my home state of South Dakota. The mountains are gorgeous. You can see the mountains from every spot here, as they line the horizon, so getting around is easy, just look for the mountains and you know which way to go. I love it!!! The midwest has always had my heart.

But of course, new places take some getting used to and finding your way around can be difficult at first, so we're getting there a day at a time. The girls really miss their friends, but they started school yesterday here and so far, so good! Taylor has a nice girl showing her around the middle school for a few days, and this girl's group of friends have welcomed her in very warmly. On Kati's first day, she made a friend and even got her phone number - they want a play date already! lol She's my little social bug! Everyone here in Colorado has been so warm and friendly. It's very different from New York (but in a good way). Even the cashiers strike up a conversation with you and welcome you with a warm smile and kind words. This is definitely what my family and I needed. We needed a positive change, and I think we'll be very happy here.

So...I'm in an apartment for 45 days and could bring very limited scrapbooking supplies with me! I have some sneaks to share with you from the new Studio Calico kit called Planetarium that will be revealed in a few days! Full of stars and fun patterns. I hope my cards aren't too simple...as I said I was limited on supplies, so I had to make do with mostly just the kit, some scissors (didn't even bring my paper trimmer - lol!), and some adhesive. Here are a couple of sneaks:

You'll love the patterns in the main card kit!

I brought a couple of dies with me, so this one uses the Doily Details die by Papertrey Ink behind the star. The stars from the kit are from Pink Paislee's Luxe line, so shimmery as you can see from this picture!

There are also a bunch of cute stamps in the kit as well...

You'll be able to grab this kit soon at Studio Calico. Stay tuned! Thanks for reading today. xo

craft-n-connect event at Pink Paislee...

All this month at Pink Paislee, we are hosting a Craft-n-Connect event! We'll be posting a little something about each of our design team members, along with a new project each day that they've created. Along with this event, be sure to visit Pink Paislee's Facebook page for contests and prizes!

Today was my day to post, so I made this little layout of my daughter Kati at Easter.

I used some of the Luxe papers, Luxe arrow rub ons and chipboard stars and some Artisan Album Tab Covers, which I sprayed with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine mists! The Tab Covers are usually used in the 4x8" album, but I used them here on my layout to ground the photo and add color.

You can spray the chipboard stars with Heidi's Color Shine mists also, and the foil on the stars will resist the mist.

I chose this title for my page, because I really love experiencing the holidays through my girls - it's magic the way they see everything, and I wish it could always be like that! We had a beautiful Easter with the Flanders family - all of the cousins and second cousins, many generations of us all together. I wish my girls could stay little forever and always experience that magic!

If you are interested in reading a little more about me today, visit the Pink Paislee blog, and stop by each day this month to learn about all of our fabulous team members!! :)
